What is Drop Earrings Not Bombs?

Drop Earrings Not Bombs (DENB) is a project that raises funds and empowers Syrian refugees living in Istanbul, Turkey. In a partnership with Small Project Istanbul's Olive Tree Women's Craft Collective, DENB earrings are handmade by Syrian refugees. The unique earrings are sold and shipped globally, and 100% of the proceeds go into funding for Small Projects Istanbul (SPI), where a variety of programs (language, recreational, and educational) are held for Syrian refugees looking to rebuild their lives in a new country.

Language is often the greatest barrier in the way of refugees' integration.

Who benefits from this project?

Syrian refugees living in Istanbul, Turkey. The programs run by SPI include activities for children, as well as men and women. Over 150 families are currently benefiting from the programs at SPI, and over 70 children have been able to return to formal education through the programs.
